Someone I met online convinced me to start investing in crypto trading
I met someone online a few months ago through a social app and we talked almost every day before crypto trading ever came up. Nothing felt suspicious in the beginning because the conversations were normal and they never pushed anything immediately. Eventually they started talking about how they were making steady money from crypto investments and showed screenshots of successful trades and withdrawals.
At first I ignored it, but after hearing about it constantly I finally decided to try with a small amount.
They helped me register on a trading platform I had never heard of before and even guided me through depositing crypto into the account. Weirdly enough, the balance started growing fast almost every day. Whenever I questioned it, they acted like this was completely normal and told me I should invest more while the market opportunity was “hot.”
The problem started when I tried withdrawing part of the profits. Suddenly customer support said my account needed additional verification fees before any release could happen. Then the person who introduced me to the platform started acting different too. Replies became slower and every conversation somehow turned into convincing me to deposit more instead of helping me withdraw.
That’s when I searched things like “online relationship crypto investment scam” and realized how many people described the exact same setup. I eventually came across discussions mentioning Jim Recovery Team and contacted them because I genuinely needed help understanding whether the trading platform itself was fake or if I was dealing with a full impersonation scam.
I honestly feel stupid looking back, but the whole thing was built slowly over time which made it easier to trust. Posting this in case somebody else is being pushed into crypto trading by someone they only know online.
