Reykjavik Pritožba zaradi brezžične tehnologije v šolah
Podpisniki smo zaskrbljeni za zdravje in razvoj svojih otrok v šolah z brezžično tehnologijo za poučevanje. Ogromna količina znanstvenih raziskav je pokazala veliko zdravstvenih tveganj zaradi dolgotrajne izpostavljenosti radiofrekvenčnim sevanjem iz brezžičnega omrežja in naprav, ki so precej pod priporočenimi referenčnimi nivoji Mednarodne Komisija za zaščito pred neionizirnimi sevanji (ICNIRP). Oblasti prosimo, naj sprejmejo svojo odgovornost za prihodnje zdravje in dobro počutje naših otrok.
Maja 2011 je Mednarodna agencija za raziskave raka (IARC) pri Svetovni zdravstveni organizaciji (WHO) razvrstila radiofrekvenčno sevanje kot morebitni kancerogen skupine 2B. Od takrat več znanstvenih študij o izpostavljenosti radiofrekvenečnemu sevanju pri ljudeh, živalih in biološkem materialu okrepilo povezanost z povečanim tveganjem za raka, zlasti za možganske tumorje. Več laboratorijskih študij je pokazalo mehanične učinke karcinogeneze, kot so oksidativni stres, znižanje regulacije mRNA in poškodbe DNK z enoverižnimi prelomi. IARC klasifikacija vključuje vse vire radiofrekvenčnega sevanja kot možne kancerogene. Izpostavljenost baznim postajam mobilne telefonije, dostopnim točkam WiFi, pametnim telefonom, prenosnim računalnikom in tabličnim računalnikom je lahko dolgoročna, včasih tudi celodnevna, tako doma kot v šoli. Za otroke se to tveganje lahko poveča zaradi kumulativnega učinka izpostavljenosti tem napravam med njihov celotno življenjsko dobo. Nezrele celice in celice v razvoju so lahko bolj občutljive na izpostavljenost radifrekvenčnemu sevanju. Na podlagi znanstvenih študij nobena varna raven tega sevanja ni določena in zato nimamo zagotovil o varnosti.
Poleg tveganja za raka lahko radifrekvenčno sevanje vpliva tudi na krvno-možgansko pregrado, da se odpre in pusti strupene molekule v možgane, ki lahko poškodujejo nevrone v hipokampusu (možganskem centru za spomin in učenje), vplivajo na povečanje ali zmanjšanje bistvenih beljakovin v možganih, ki sodelujejo v metabolizmu možganov, povzročijo odziv na stres in zaščito nevronov ter vplivajo na nevrotransmiterje. Semenčice izpostavljene brezžičnemu omrežju so imele več napak glave in poškodbe DNK. Radiofrekvenčno sevanje lahko poveča oksidativni stres v celicah in vodi povečanje vnetnih citokinov in zmanjšanje sposobnost popravljanja enoverižnih in dvoverižnih prelomov DNK.
Ugotovljene so bile tudi kognitivne motnje v učenju in spominu. Rezultati iz raziskave OECD PISA o uspešnosti pri branju in matematiki kažejo, da se rezultati zmanjšujejo v državah, ki so največ vložile v uvajanje računalnikov v šolo. Večopravilnost, preveč ur pred zaslonom, manj časa za družabne stike in telesne dejavnosti, s tveganjem za bolečine v vratu in hrbtu, prekomerna teža, težave s spanjem in zasvojenost z informacijsko tehnologijo (IT) je nekaj znanih tveganj in stranskih učinkov informacijske tehnologije. To je v izrazitem nasprotju z pogosto navajanimi, vendar večinoma nedokazanimi možnimi koristmi IT.
Šolske oblasti v vseh državah prosimo, da pridobijo znanje o potencialnih tveganjih radiofrekvenčnega sevanja za odraščajoče in razvijajoče se otroke. Podpora ožičenim izobraževalnim tehnologijam je varnejša rešitev od potencialno nevarnih izpostavljenosti brezžičnim sevanjem. Prosimo vas za sledite načelu ALARA (tako nizko tveganje kot je razumno dosegljivo) in Svetu Evrope Resolucija 1815, da sprejmete vse razumne ukrepe za zmanjšanje izpostavljenosti radiofrekvenčnemu sevanju.

Naj so vrtci in šole brez brezžičnih omrežij
V vsaki učilnici je priporočljiva ožičena neposredna kabelska povezava za učitelja, ki jo uporablja med poukom.
Priporočamo ožičene telefone za osebje v vrtcih in šolah
Priporočamo kabelsko povezavo z internetom in tiskalniki v šolah in izklop Wi-Fi nastavitve v vsej opremi
Priporočamo prenosne in tablične računalnike, ki se lahko preko kabla povežejo z internetom
Učencem naj ne bo dovoljena uporaba mobilnih telefonov v šolah. Lahko jih pustijo doma ali pa jih učitelj zbere v izklopljenem načinu zjutraj pred prvo učno uro
