As air transport switches to summer schedule today, Slovenia's main airport brings several changes, such as new routes to Stockholm, Helsinki and Berlin, more flights to Istanbul and Swiss Air as a new airliner.

Slovenian flag carrier Adria Airways has added Stockholm to its list of European capitals where it flies from the Letališče Jožeta Pučnika Ljubljana airport, or Ljubljana airport.

Adria will fly to the Swedish capital twice a week, starting 23 April. The city of Berlin will be added to its flight schedule a day later, three times a week.

On 1 June, Adria is launching a new route to London's Southend from Maribor airport, flying the route three times a week until the end of September.

Swiss Air meanwhile started operating a Ljubljana-Zürich route today and will fly it daily, while Finnair is returning to the Ljubljana airport for the summer with four weekly flights to Helsinki.

Turkish Airlines will be flying nine times a week on the Ljubljana-Istanbul route, up two from now.

The other airliners flying to Ljubljana are not changing destinations nor the number of flights.

Air France will fly daily to Paris and Air Serbia ten times a week to Belgrade.

Budget airliners Easyjet and Wizz Air's schedules on the Ljubljana-London route also remain the same, with Wizz Air flying also to Brussels.

With five Montenegro Airlines flights a week, the Slovenian capital will be connected also to Podgorica.

Port operator Aerodrom Ljubljana has said that until 24 October, passengers will be able to fly weekly to 27 destinations in Europe on more than 160 regular flights, operated by nine regular airliners.

The company, which has been recently taken over by Germany's Fraport, has added that this year Ljubljana will be connected with more destinations than last summer.
