Ljubljana, 25 March 2014 – SLS President Franc Bogovič and NSi President Ljudmila Novak signed the agreement of cooperation in the European Parliamentary elections 2014 today. They emphasised they believe in a positive cooperation and the “blue-green coalition” result. Joint party-list top candidate Lojze Peterle feels this is a sign of spring in Slovenian politics, for Slovenia as well as for the EU.
Peterle: This agreement is a sign of spring for Slovenia and the EU
“This agreement is a sign of spring in Slovenian politics, for Slovenia as well as the EU,” said the joint party-list top candidate and Member of the European Parliament Lojze Peterle after the official signing of the agreement of cooperation today. He is satisfied that parties’ committees democratically approved this cooperation. In Peterle’s opinion, a foundation has been set, that proves political cooperation for the good of the country is possible, and it is also in the European spirit. Peterle is certain that voters will accept it as such.
Novak: We are building on foundations of cooperation and dialogue
NSi President Ljudmila Novak said that forming a joint party-list was a wise decision for a “blue-green coalition”. “Europe’s founding fathers built their experience on cooperation, connecting, solidarity, dialogue and mutual respect. NSi and SLS have decided to build on the same foundations toward a new political culture that Slovenia is lacking at the moment,” said Ljudmila Novak and added that she is certain that the joint party-list would get an excellent result in the upcoming elections.
