President of Slovenian People's Party (SLS) Marko Zidanšek, MSc_ Angela Merkel fell for the capital and destabilised Europe! Hopefully, she will recognise her historical responsibility in time.
Ljubljana, 14 October 2015 – “Russia and Europe had a good common market. Russia has the raw materials and Europe has the know-how. The Ukraine crisis destabilised this arrangement and the story continues with the migrant and refugee crisis. Angela Merkel fell for the capital and destabilised Europe, and each EU citizen can already feel the consequences. Hopefully, she will recognise her historical responsibility in time. The SLS sent a proposition for forming a Global Partnership for Peace (GPP) and a constant Global Security Conference (GSC) to sister-parties within the EPP and to the EPP leadership. We expect that the EPP, being the strongest political group in Europe, will respond and start realising the idea. Europe is the big family that we all chose and the GPP and GSC would help solve problems in a significantly faster, more efficient and sustainable way,” said the President of SLS Marko Zidanšek today, while explaining the reasons behind the SLS proposition to form the GPP and GSC.
Zidanšek added that SLS is a full member of the EPP, making it an equal partner of the EPP_ “We feel, as I do, personally, that these kinds of issues must be addressed openly and in time. We will personally call upon the EPP and our sister-parties to start realising our proposition!”
The SLS sent out letters to sister-parties within the EPP, as well as the EPP leadership, calling upon them to formally support their proposition for the EPP.
Below, there is more detailed information about the GPP snd GSC.

Proposition of the SLS for forming a Global Partnership for Peace and a Global Security Conference
Hundreds of thousands of refugees are being driven from their homelands in Asia and Africa due to civil wars, criminal and genocidal attacks that affect civil population and its most vulnerable segments. Waves of refugees are rolling into Europe as the Promised Land, which demands many important decisions are made and foremost, immediate effective action is taken to solve the refugee crisis in a sustainable manner. Europe's inaction and inefficiency could lead to its long term destabilisation that is why we, the SLS, propose the following solutions.
The SLS propositions_
- Formation of a Global Partnership for Peace (GPP) and assembly of a constant Global Security Conference (GSC)
We call upon the European People’s Party to immediately invite to forming a global partnership, a coalition of countries for peace ‒ Global Partnership for Peace (GPP) ‒ and start a Global Security Conference (GSC) with the purpose of finding find and implementing sustainable solutions.
The goals of both initiatives are short-, middle- and long-term:
- To form a critical mass of countries to enable planning a common command and execution of military operations to neutralise the current state of affairs in the crisis areas. We believe the following countries could be included_ European countries, United States of America, Russia, China, Japan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and other interested Arabic countries including the official Government of Iraq, the official Government of Syria, the Syrian opposition and any and all countries willing to contribute their military and operational resources. The GPP can be a platform to plan and execute substantial security operation and constitution of security hotspots in Syria, Iraq and other countries in distress.
- The GPP can assist the countries in distress with technology, management and economy and so help reach a higher quality of life in these areas. The GSC shall be in constant session for as long as the conditions to start normalising these countries are met. Therefore, constant panel discussions or round tables shall be formed within the GSC. Short-term as well as sustainable solutions for each area in question will be formed and measurements presented. The current chaotic situation poses a significant threat. The GSC can stop the reoccurrence of economical and humanitarian crisis in Europe and long-term disintegration of the critical mass for Arabic and African countries' normal functioning.
- Forming security hotspots in countries in distress
Forming security hotspots in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other Asian and African areas in distress will guarantee secure conditions for the current refugees to safely return, live and work in their homelands. It would help ensure that the current refugees would only remain refugees temporarily ‒ until they could safely return to their homelands and contribute to their renaissance. The GPP will assist in returning the conditions for normalisation and development of these countries with every means at its disposal. It will simultaneously discontinue the pressure of the wave of refugees on Europe.
We propose 5 thematic panels of the constant GSC_
- Defence and Operational Panel. Armed forces general staffs are included. They neutralise military conflicts, enable the implementation of security hotspots and normalising the state of affairs in these countries. The goal_ Security stabilisation of countries.
- Economy and Development Panel. Economy policy makers, developmental strategists and investors are included. The goal_ Constitution of economically successful and self-sufficient countries.
- Education and cultural Panel. Education policy makers, leading universities, specialists in European values, human rights and freedoms experts are included. The goal_ Constitution of comparable educational institutions, professional profiles, a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
- Humanitarian Panel. All the global humanitarian organisations, government and non-government. The goal_ To sustainably prevent humanitarian disasters.
- Political Panel. Specialists in democracy, administration, effectiveness management, national borders, representatives of peoples and tribes are included. The goal_ Constitution of democratically efficient, structurally stable countries that can prevent possible future reoccurrences of the current situation by themselves.
