Press returns with the publisher’s fourth title,

the amazing memoir Freedom to Breathe by the amazing Elena Pečarič!

First published in Slovenian in 2021, the book has received a remarkable rendering into English by David Limon, and it is prefaced by none other than Mladen Dolar. We are so proud to be heralding this wonderful book.

On a personal note, I feel it such a privilege to have been able to have been one of the first readers of it in English. The memoir is gripping and extremely moving: it takes the reader into the uncertainty and claustrophobia of its predicament with viscerality, and it made me both laugh and cry whilst reading (an accolade I can only attribute to two other books: Tolstoy’s War and Peace and Proust’s In Search of Lost Time). I cannot recommend it highly enough.
