Mijatović: We are waiting for an apology from official Belgrade

Today, the Vice President of the SDP BiH, Vojin Mijatović, reacted to the shameful video featuring members of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, in which they rejoice with Chetnik songs calling for a new genocide, mentioning Srebrenica, Vukovar.

‘Unfortunately, in 2022, we still live in fascism in the Balkans. It shows how much we have failed as a society. And this disgusting event actually shows why we will not be in the EU for a long time. I will not accept the thesis that these lunatics are Serbia, but when we see this and when I see statements like Vulin's and Dačić's, I can only say that Serbia as a society is in a serious problem and fascism. Unfortunately, that can be seen here in BiH as well and we must be aware of that.

This is all the result of the seed of evil from the nineties that is still present, along with the ridiculous educational system as well as the disturbed value system in which we live. In addition to the obvious fascism, the message of this event is that such phenomena take us back to the Middle Ages, people like these want Serbs to be murderers and that to be a Serb is in fact to have a horse and a gun. This is the bottom of civilization.

I expect an apology and reaction from official Belgrade, as well as sanctioning the perpetrators of this event, and accordingly, official Belgrade will show whether there is a difference in relation to the Milošević regime from the nineties’, Mijatović said.
